Plastic surgery has become unbelievably popular in the past decade. In the past, plastic surgery was purely for medical and health purposes. If your face was smashed in or you had serious injuries then plastic surgery can be used to help you. However, in the past few years, plastic surgery has expanded into other realms. As you know, society is more hooked up on looks than ever before, and people are under increased pressure to look beautiful; and they are using surgery to do it. To many of us, plastic surgery for the sole purpose of improving your looks seems crazy. Of course, none of this really prevents people from going out and having it done.

It would appear that plastic surgery for the sole purpose of improving one’s attractiveness or beauty is done mainly by celebrities and socialites. When you think of what surgery costs and the outrageous fees, it would be understandable if you think that only celebrities or really successful people would contemplate plastic surgery. It may surprise you that a lot of people who are not outrageously rich, and still have fairly normal careers, will save money for years in order to get a plastic surgery operation. Plastic surgery can cost tens of thousands of dollars for each operation, and yet people still do it.

In addition, you will find people that turn to plastic surgery to do some really wierd things you wouldn’t normally think of. My favourite case of an outlandish use for plastic surgery involves Jocelyn Wildenstein. A well known socialite around hollywood, Wildenstein was married to a billionaire husband who she later found had cheated on her, so she turned to plastic surgery to make herself look better. Wildenstein had got one of the most well known surgeons in the country to make her face look like a cat or tiger. According to the article I read, many patients or people waiting in the surgeons office were scarred for life when they say Wildenstein walk out after her operation. I am assuming you don’t want to look like a cat or tiger. People who go for plastic surgery to improve their looks do it to look younger, and have more perfect dimensions.

When you consider how many people are willing to spend a lot of money on operations, it will not shock you much when you hear what many surgeons earn. I read that the average salary of a plastic surgeon is over $320,000 a year. That isn’t the top salary, that is the average salary a plastic surgeon makes. Take a moment to consider how high the annual salaries are for the best surgeons in the world. I heard that the number one plastic surgeon in the world (a client of Tony Robbins) got paid one million dollars by the sultan of Brunei to fly over and operate on three people’s faces. Obviously, this is a nice profession to be in. There is a ton of work and study that plastic surgeons have to go through, and like being a doctor, lawyer or engineer, you need to spend a fortune in college or university fees to get that degree in the end.

If you want to hire a plastic surgeon, you will be glad to know that there are lots of firms all over America that do it. I have personally had experience with various Fort Worth plastic surgeons, Portland plastic surgeons and Oklahoma plastic surgeons. Before going with any plastic surgeon, you should of course do some research. For the amount of money you pay you’d better go with someone that knows what they are doing. You will be glad to know however that the vast majority of registered plastic surgeons are very good at what they do.
